The Raw Food Diet For Fast Weight Loss

By Jo Ann H.

Obesity has taken the shape of an epidemic in the modern world. More and more people are falling prey to obesity due to an unhealthy lifestyle and bad food habits. But obesity can have disastrous effects on a person's health, so it is imperative to find a solution to this out-of-control health problem as soon as possible. Many people have been trying for ages to lose weight by following untold numbers of different kinds of diet plans and workout programs but have not succeeded. In frustration, they often end up just quitting altogether and falling back into their old habits of fattening fast food and little exercise.
A raw diet has proven to be of great aid in this regard after people following different variations of the diet have claimed drastic weight loss in a relatively short period of time, and without feeling hungry or miserable like you would with most diets. There is an ample amount of truth to this claim as the diet practitioners have proven that the raw food diet truly helps in losing weight quickly and effectively. This is because the calorie content of raw foods like vegetables and fruits is very low. Therefore, even if you consume fairly large amounts of raw food every day, you still would not consume many calories. Often people who are striving to lose weight prefer to starve, but starving has many negative effects. By following a raw food diet, you can lose weight without ever feeling starved.
Another great advantage of raw food is that it contains many digestive enzymes that processed and cooked foods lack. These enzymes help to break down these basic forms of foods that we consume, rendering the food suitable for use for a number of purposes. On the other hand, if food remains in an unbroken state, it tends to be stored in the body causing us to gain weight. Therefore, the natural presence of digestive enzymes in raw food can be of great help.
There are some additional benefits that the raw food diet offers other than the fact that it is known for causing very fast weight loss. For instance, the diet helps to remove harmful toxins from the body which pose a great threat to the normal functioning of internal organs. By washing away these harmful toxins, the raw diet plan boosts the immune system of the body, and it can be of great benefit to one's health if used for short-term purposes. Since it has a tendency to lower the protein, mineral and fat levels in the body, this diet should never be continued for extended periods.

Raw Food Diet Weight Loss

By Scott White Platinum Quality Author

For those who are seeking natural weight loss then a raw food diet weight loss plan might be right for you. This has been the latest "health craze" for years now while some disagree with all the benefits of enzymes it claims to have. Raw food does many things for your body especially supplying many nutrients to your body that would normally get killed when cooked. Those who venture down the raw food diet find themselves only eating uncooked and unprocessed fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and oils.

It is believed that any food cooked over 116 degrees loose all their nutrients and healthy enzymes. Raw foods contain enzymes that when cooked the molecular structure of the food is changed and it becomes toxic. Enzymes do a lot more in your body other than helping to digest food. Enzymes control every single reaction every cell of your body has. When removing these your body becomes imbalanced and your entire system is affected. This can lead to disease, excessive weight gain and depression. All the minerals, herbs, vitamins and hormones can not do their job without these enzymes.

Some weight loss enzymes you need to achieve raw food diet weight loss is called Protease and Lipase. Lipase is a fat splitting enzyme that breaks down and dissolves fat throughout the body. This enzyme is found plentifully in raw live foods you can simply find at your local farmers market. Without this fat burning enzyme fat begins to accumulate in those noticeable areas around your hips, thighs, stomach and butt. Protease is another enzyme found in raw foods. This enzyme is excellent for maintaining an overall healthy body by eliminating toxins found during fat loss. When your body burns fat toxins are released which can then cause water retention. Enzymes are lost and killed daily from our typical lifestyles so it is important to eat these enzyme rich raw foods to restore what was killed.

Living in a fast paced world where everything is based off of speed and convenience making a raw food diet weight loss plan not sound very fun or convenient. However, today's lifestyle kills enzymes left and right and not just through cooking foods. Stress, food additives and lack of sleep are just a few things that also kill enzymes. Eating raw organic foods can restore these enzymes not only benefit your digestive and weight loss issues but also your entire life making you feel healthier and happier!

Some have argued that there is little scientific evidence about these enzymes in that very few of them are capable of surviving the extreme acidic environment of the stomach. If this is the case it should not be extremely important for you to eat raw foods for their abundance of enzymes. It is known that cooking raw foods can decrease the amount of nutrients and vitamins that they contain but exposure to other things such as air can cause this as well. Another con to sticking to a raw food diet weight loss plan is the risk of consuming raw foods such as meat and eggs can increase your risk of food-borne illness. Also when substituting nuts and seeds your raw food diet can be high in fat. Foods such as eggs and tomatoes can be utilized more by the body if they are cooked.

Whatever weight loss plan you chose to go on it is important to seek medical advice first. For years the raw diet has been the latest health craze, but it is important to consider all the pros and cons to any weight loss plan you intend on using. With any diet you still should stick to the same regular exercise, good night sleep and plenty of water.

Achieve Fast Weight Loss With Raw Food Diet
By Braydon Cassidy Platinum Quality Author

If you are looking for some ways for the fast weight loss then there is no other better option than to opt for the raw food diet. There are several instances where people have reported losing up to 15 pounds of weight in the very first week of using the raw food diet. However, before opting for this diet for the fast weight loss, you would need to know how to get the most out of it.

There are mainly two reasons why the raw food diet is a good option for the fast weight loss. First is its low calorific value. When you eat a definite amount of processed foods, you provide lots of calories to your body. But when you eat the same amount of raw foods, you get much lower calorific value on each of your bites. Moreover, you soon feel full when you eat the raw fruits and vegetables. So the raw diet is a good way to fill your stomach up, without ending up consuming lots of calories.

Another reason behind the success of this diet in making you lose weight fast is its digestive enzymes. When you eat such foods, you also get to consume variety of different digestive enzymes. These same digestive enzymes are not found in the processed foods. Thus, when you eat the processed foods, all the digestive work is done by the digestive enzymes which are already present in your body and you don't get any assistance from outside.

But the raw foods provide a variety of different digestive enzymes that help in breaking down the complex food particles into simpler ones. As a result the body doesn't get the chance to store fat in your body and you get fast weight loss results.

Eating Raw Benefits - 3 Simple Steps to Start a Raw Food Diet
By Ted Begnoche Platinum Quality Author

Eating raw benefits are many and varied. Not only does raw food taste better, it is far better for you nutritionally than cooked food. There's also less preparation time, which fits in conveniently with our already hectic lives.

It's simple to get more raw foods into your daily life. Below are three quick and easy steps you can take immediately so you can begin to see and feel the eating raw benefits.

  1. Don't think you have to 100 percent raw all at once. I think this is where most people experience the biggest stumbling block. It's extremely difficult to go all raw overnight, and in fact many raw food advocates are not 100 percent raw. I personally strive for 75 percent and most days I get there, but the important point to understand is that's it's not all or nothing. The raw food diet is perfect for gradually working into your daily life.
  2. Buy fresh and organic whenever possible. Organic food is much better for you than the regular stuff. I try to buy organic as much as I can. I realize it is more expensive and that finances are a concern for everyone these days, but the differences between organic and non-organic produce is remarkable. I also try to visit farmer's markets and farm stands whenever I can. Through this simple act you are not only supporting local businesses, but the freshness and quality of the food is much better.
  3. The last point is the easiest of all to say, but sometimes difficult to accomplish. You simply need to START. Instead of putting it off until another day, why not stop at the grocery store on your way home from work. Most stores these days have a wide variety of organic selections to choose from. Get started today!

By slowly and gradually working more and more raw foods into your daily routine, you'll begin to realize all the eating raw benefits. If you get started today, it won't be long before you notice a big difference in the way you look and feel.

Ted Begnoche invites you to download a copy of his FREE report detailing the simple scientific facts behind why eating more raw foods can help you lose weight have more energy and look and feel younger. Adding raw foods to your daily life can be both simple and extremely effective.

How to Succeed on the Raw Food Diet and Not Become Too Skinny
By Nic Masters Platinum Quality Author

On June 21, 2009 I took a decision, which has changed my life for good. On that day I decided to give the Raw Food Diet a try. I thought that I will test it for like one month, and see if the promised benefits of feeling good and energetic at all time, added to the weight loss of course, were right or not.

So I started this diet without feeling too much stress. In fact, the biggest stress came from the people around me. They were so shocked that I had quit eating, as they referred to my diet. But how are you going to survive without eating any bread or potatoes, or other sources of calories. How will you get your energy? Apparently for them raw fruits, nuts, and vegetables were not considered to be energy sources. But that was OK because their lack of belief did not change my conviction. Plus, there was something else, which made me stay with the Raw Food Diet.

I had read from people living on the Raw Food Diet that they felt much better emotionally and psychologically after they started the diet, and I soon found out how correct that was. I had never felt more centered in my life before! So, everything was fine on the emotional front. Of course, there were some challenges, the biggest one of which was the ensuing weight loss. In fact, I might have lost a bit too much weight, or at least that was the opinion of the people around me. By the way, they are all at least a little bit on the heavy side, so no wonder they felt I was too skinny. Perhaps they were jealous?

Anyways, there was the challenge of getting enough calories from fruits and vegetables, but I soon learned how to deal with it. I learned that I needed to eat good amounts of high-caloric fruits such as bananas and melons, plus I needed to get some fats from avocados and raw nuts. But again, it took me only a couple of months to get used to this change in lifestyle and to start enjoying it. The people around me were not enjoying this lifestyle change, but I definitely did not care as I felt great about it!

Finally, I would like to alert you of the only nutrient, which you can not get from raw fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Many people were asking me how I get my proteins, but of course, that is not a problem since there are enough proteins in the raw foods I was eating, so I was never worried about that - I only had a problem explaining to others how I get my proteins. However, there is one valid concern when going on the Raw Food Diet, and that is Vitamin B12. This vitamin is only contained in animal products such as meat and milk products, and is not found in any of the raw foods, except for raw meat of course, but we would not like to touch that. So for Vitamin B12, all you have to do is to take it as a supplement, and that is the only supplement you need to take. In fact, to be on the safe side, I take a multivitamin complex every day, which provides me with all the necessary microelements I need. Otherwise, I enjoy my raw food and feel greatly about it! Happy 1-Year Anniversary to me and my Raw Food Diet!

Eating Raw Foods - Is the Raw Food Diet the Same As a Vegetarian Diet?
By Kelly Cannon Platinum Quality Author

What's the difference between a raw food diet and a vegetarian diet? Technically speaking, a 100% raw food diet is a form of vegetarianism. A vegetarian does not eat any meat fish or poultry; all their food comes from plant products, such as vegetables, fruits, pasta and rice. However, a raw foodist will only eat foods that have not been cooked. While a vegetarian may eat spaghetti with a cooked tomato sauce, a raw foodist will instead have julienned vegetables covered with a tomato puree.

The umbrella of 'vegetarian' covers many different groups. The most common is the 'lacto-ovo-vegetarian' who refrains from eating meat products, but does eat eggs and dairy products. Vegans eat no animal products, to the point that some even refrain from honey. The raw foodist then, is a type of vegetarian who refrains from eating all animal products, and eats only fruits and vegetables in their raw state. Although sushi may be considered a raw food, the diet typically refers to eating raw, uncooked fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, seaweeds, etc. While a vegetarian will eat steamed broccoli, the raw food purist will eat only raw broccoli - not steamed.

Raw diet proponents support the belief that all foods contain certain enzymes that are the 'life force' of the food, and that each food contains a perfect mix that helps our body to digest foods properly. It's said that cooking food destroys these enzymes, and forces our body to produce its own digestive enzymes, leading to a less efficient digestion. Because the food becomes more difficult to digest, it takes longer, and we end up with partially digested foods - fats, carbs and proteins - clogging our digestive system, which can lead to bowel problems.

Raw foodists also believe that in the process of cooking food, the vitamins and minerals are destroyed by high heat. The raw food diet is supposed to have numerous health benefits, which include:

• Higher levels of energy

• Clearer, healthier skin

• improved digestion

• weight loss (or easier maintenance of weight)

• lowered risk of heart disease

Raw food diet meals are also simple to create, less expensive than many other diet plans, and take less time in the kitchen to cook - they work great for a busy lifestyle. If you're interested in learning more about the raw food diet, visit RawFood4Life.info

Raw Food Diet - The Weight Loss Program For Overweight Americans
By Kyle J Norton Platinum Quality Author

If you are overweight American and try to lose weight, I believe you know what is raw food diet and how it can help. Today, you are introduced to the other view point - how you can get rid of your extra weight once and for all in a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Traditional Chinese medicine has never endorsed raw food diet for weight loss because of its yin, cool and damp nature. Prolonged periods of intake of raw food can damage the function of the stomach in food digestion and spleen in qi and fluid distribution and transformation.

Most overweight Americans have eaten too much fried and greasy foods which are considered hot, damp and excessive yang in nature. They heat up the stomach and speed up digestion, thereby inducing hunger. If you are young and energetic, the excessive energy can be removed from your body through sweat and urinary excretion, but unfortunately many overweight people are lack of exercise, leading to fat accumulated in the body's organs and tissues.

Traditional Chinese medicine views overweight as a problem of spleen deficiency, due to the stomach's inability to digest foods properly and the accumulation of turbid cannot be secreted quickly, caused by an overheating stomach as a result of intake of hot, damp, and yang foods.

When food enters the stomach, it is divided into 2 parts. The food qi is absorbed by the spleen immediately, and the food material is digested and divided into fluid essences and turbid. Fluid essences are once again absorbed by the spleen and the turbid is secreted through the bladder and large intestine. Overintake of hot, excessive yang and damp foods for a prolonged period of time causes abnormal functioning of the spleen in qi and fluid distribution and transformation, resulting in extra energy and dampness building up in the body, leading to heat transforming the dampness into phlegm (fat).

Raw food diet is a yin pathogen and is cool in nature. As it enters the stomach, it reduces the heat in the stomach that slows down the digestive process and curves appetite, thus giving the spleen time to eliminate the extra energy and fluid slowly, resulting in restoring the spleen function in fluid and qi distribution. This process takes a while, but it works. If the accumulated dampness is gone, slowly all of the phlegm will be secreted through the bladder and large intestine, and you will finally achieve your weight loss once and for all and return to the range of normal weight according to the BMI index.

Remember as soon as your weight returns back to normal, it is the best time to reduce the intake of raw foods by replacing some of them with cooked foods to prevent opposite effects.

Every Other Day Diet Vs Raw Food Diet - Which is Right For You?
By John Davenport Platinum Quality Author

It seems that whereever you turn there's a different eating concept of program which is supposed to help you lose weight and look better. Naturally, you also want to feel healthier, not just lose fat.

In today's article I want to compare two methods to lose weight and lead a healthier life. One is called the Every Other Day Diet and the other is known as the Raw Food diet. Which method is better for you? Which should you choose?

Before I begin to compare these two methods according to a list of criteria, let's go over what these programs are in general.

The Every Other Day Diet (EODD for short) is a weight loss program in which you can eat your favorite foods every other day even if these are the kind of foods you will normally not find on any diet plan. These may include pizza, burgers, and so on.

Naturally, this program does have specific guidelines and you need to eat according to them. But, if you do, you can lose weight without really depriving yourself.

The Raw Food diet is a general term for programs which prescribe eating food in its most natural forms. This is usually vegetarian, if not vegan, programs, so meat eaters will not like this. The idea is that because modern food is filled with chemicals, pesticides, antibiotics, drugs, and other pollutants, that we're getting sicker and fatter simply because we're eating bad food and we need to stop.

Ease of Use

I believe that EODD is easier to do than most raw food diets because it's less restrictive and does not require a radical lifestyle change. However, you can get used to eating raw. It's an acquired habit.

Support

EODD does have a support system but so do many online raw food diet plans such as Yuri Elkaim's Eating For Energy program. I believe support is very important which is why I prefer online programs to books.

Exercise

Raw Food diets as a whole are not centered around exercise. Some include exercise guidelines and some don't. With EODD you will need to workout regularly to get the best results you can. There is no getting around it.

Health Wise

This is a point of contention. If you believe that eating "modern" food is bad for you (and there are experts which say as much) then a Raw Food diet will look healthier to you. If you don't, then you don't need to go to such extremes.

I will say this: there is truth in the claims that our foods are not as clean as they can and should be. However, you need to realize that a eating raw is a commitment to a totally different way of life, so you need to be ready for it.

Each of these 2 methods can work for you. Just choose the one which seems right for you and your life.

Carol Alt - Raw Food Diet to Keep the Weight Off
By Christine Delareya

Carol Alt's raw food diet has helped her positively glow in radiant health. As a model, for years she has had to maintain an impossible 125lbs body weight on her 5ft 10in frame. Eating very little left her continually run down. Then at the age of 34, she realised she had to understand her body to keep her weight down and so learned the immense benefits of raw organic eating.

When Carol reached 34, she went on a photo shoot with a 19 year old who was full of zest and was taking over the star billing whilst Carol sat in the shadows. The flight had made her bloat, she was tired and on medicines for her sinuses and her acid stomach. Despite starving herself for 2 days, she was still unable to get her weight down from 135lbs to 125lbs.

Hitting the wall

Her metabolism was slowing and without a change in routine and a healthier diet to reduce weight, her career as a model was over. She was in a routine taking medicines to fall asleep and coffee to wake up. What kind of life was this? She was aging. She started to gain weight, got wrinkles and couldn't lose them. She had "hit the wall".

Coming back from the trip with the 19 year old made her realise she had to change. She didn't have the energy to work any more. She then heard about a doctor who recommended a diet to bring the zip back to her life.

He recommended that Carol went on a raw diet. He taught her about food, nutrition and pretty soon she began to feel a lot better. She regained her zest for life, lost the excess weight, came off all her medicines, cut out her habits and felt a whole lot better.

She is now a strong advocate of the raw food diet. But what does it involve?

A raw diet is where food is not cooked above 118 degrees. This ensures all the nutrients are retained in the food. Raw foodism is focused on improving the whole life and lifestyle whilst maintaining a balanced healthy diet.

The benefits every raw foodist experiences are much lower cholesterol, a better acid-alkaline balance and of course excess weight dropping off. As well as a lot more energy and radiance.

You can gain the same benefits as Carol Alt. Raw food diet planning is a lot easier with a guide or set of recipes books to ensure you maintain a balanced healthy diet.

About the Author: Christine Delareya is keenly embracing the vegan lifestyle and is already feeling far more energized. She has been surprised how easy it is to cook vegan once you know what to buy and where to get it from. Here's a site she contributes to which compares diets and features the Raw Vegan diet http://www.compare-a-diet.com/raw-vegan-diet.html
